Community responds enthusiastically on Pennant Hills to Epping Bike path

When the Trust wrote in April on its lobbying for a family friendly, safe bike path between Pennant Hills and Epping we asked our community to give us their views on what they think should be the characteristics of such a bike path.

We were really excited by the range and number of responses we received. Clearly this is an important issue for many of us, and the range of responses shows our community wants to be involved with Hornsby Council in deciding the important characteristics of this project.

Sydney’s healthiest suburbs: Pennant Hills area reigns supreme

Suburbs in the leafy northern end of Sydney have been billed as the harbour city’s healthiest places to live, writes Domain. Thirty two suburbs received five-star ratings in the Domain Healthy Sydney study, the majority of which were located between the lower north’s Wollstonecraft and the northern suburb of Berowra Heights, and include – among others – Mount Kuring-Gai, Berowra Heights, Pennant Hills, Wahroonga, Hornsby, Turramurra, North Epping, Macquarie Park, Warriewood, and Warrawee. Pennant Hills to Epping Cycleway Project funding announced

On Friday 2 March 2017 State Member for Epping, Damien Tudehope announced that the Cycleway from Pennant Hills to Epping will receive $5.1 million from the NSW Government Cycling Infrastructure Fund. The funding requires that the cycleway is completed by 2020.

The Pennant Hills District Civic Trust first approached Mr Tudehope about the cycle path in 2015.
